Full Job Description Utility Engineering Technician I-City Utilities Engineering Schedule:
8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., varies Ready to grow your engineering skills while helping keep Fort Wayne's utility systems running strong? If you enjoy field work, problem-solving, and creating accurate maps and plans, this role is for you. What You'll Do Collect and document field data for water, sewer, and stormwater systems. Assist with inspections, flow tests, pressure investigations, and GIS-related tasks. Prepare basic maps, drawings, and utility plans using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and
ESRI GIS.
• Verify and update infrastructure locations, assets, and project information. • Support construction inspections, recordkeeping, and coordination with engineers and project managers. What We're Looking For Associate's Degree in Civil Engineering Technology OR 10 years relevant experience. Experience with CAD drafting, inspection, or survey work (six months minimum). Basic experience with word processing and spreadsheets. Ability to work in the field, follow safety standards, and operate a City vehicle.
Preferred:
