$40 Per hour Overview We are seeking a Staff Engineering Technician to support civil design and infrastructure projects within a fast-paced engineering environment. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex projects including substations, transmission systems, and site development, contributing to critical infrastructure solutions. Key Responsibilities Develop and modify civil engineering design deliverables, including: Site layouts Grading and drainage plans Utility and roadway designs Utilize industry-standard tools such as Autodesk Civil 3D, MicroStation, and BIM/CAD platforms Perform design calculations, quantity takeoffs, and technical documentation Ensure designs meet applicable codes, standards, and quality requirements Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support project execution Review and interpret engineering inputs to produce accurate deliverables Provide technical guidance and support to junior team members Assist with scheduling, coordination, and design reviews Required Qualifications Minimum 5 years of relevant civil design / engineering technician experience Strong experience with Civil 3D grading (required) Proficiency in CAD/BIM and 3D modeling tools Solid understanding of civil engineering principles (grading, drainage, utilities, site development) Ability to manage multiple tasks and work in a team-oriented environment Preferred Qualifications Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or related field Experience supporting infrastructure, substation, or transmission projects Work Environment Full-time, onsite role (5 days per week) Collaborative team environment supporting large-scale engineering projects Additional Information Competitive hourly compensation Opportunity to work on impactful infrastructure projects Potential for extension based on project needs With over 90 years' combined experience, NES Fircroft (NES) is proud to be the world's leading engineering staffing provider spanning the Oil & Gas, Power & Renewables, Chemicals, Construction & Infrastructure, Life Sciences, Mining and Manufacturing sectors worldwide.
