About the
Role:
As a CADD Technician, Civil you will provide drafting and technical support to our civil designers and engineers on substation, transmission line, and right-of-way civil deliverables including site layout, grading, retaining walls, stormwater, and permitting drawing sets.What You Will Be Doing:
Set up drawings in accordance with specified CAD standardsPrepare drawing plots relative to substation, transmission line, and site civil deliverables as directed by designers and engineersIncorporate redlines or markups into substation site layout, grading, retaining wall, and stormwater drawings quickly and accurately per engineering reviewsPerform basic area and volume calculations to support grading, retaining wall, and stormwater designUtilize existing aerial photography and survey data within civil drawing setsCreate sitemaps with utilities for substation and transmission site design plansPrepare basic design drawings and final construction drawings for substation site layout, retaining walls, containment structures, and control house plansDraft transmission right-of-way access improvement drawings, including culvert sizing details and stabilization specificationsPrepare permitting drawing sets to support civil and permitting scoping for transmission lines and substationsCoordinate drawing updates with civil designers and engineers across grading, stormwater, and right-of-way access improvement projectsWhat You Bring:
High school diploma or equivalent (required)Associate degree or certificate in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) Technology or Bachelors degree in Engineering Technology (preferred)2+ years of CAD drafting experience; civil, site, or utility background preferredProficiency in Civil 3D and/or AutoCAD Working knowledge of civil design standards, plan and profile drawings, and permitting drawing setsExposure to substation or transmission civil drafting (preferred)Ability to read and accurately interpret redlines, markups, and engineering plansStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsEffective communication skills (verbal and written)Ability to pass a drug screen, background check, and have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the company's driving (MVR) policySo...Why Join Us?You will have the opportunity to learn, grow and directly contribute to our business.
