- $84,822.40 / annually Engineering Technician 2: $35.74
- $44.54 / hourly; $74,339.20

Experience and Training:
Associate degree in civil engineering or a closely related field and one year experience in construction surveying, computer aided drafting, and/or construction inspection; or Bachelor's Degree in civil engineering or closely related field. En g ineering Technician 2 :Experience and Training:
Associate degree in civil engineering or a closely related field and three years experience in construction surveying, computer aided drafting, and/or construction inspection; or Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a closely related field and two years experience. The Ideal Candidate will possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities: Knowled g e of : Principles and practices used in civil engineering. Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices and State traffic control principles and procedures. Principles and practices for stormwater and water quality treatment, erosion and accessible public rights-of-way design. Construction materials and methods and of materials testing. Construction specifications. Local, state and federal codes as they relate to design standards and construction activity and safety. Surveying principles and procedures Trigonometry, basic electronics, and basic lighting physics. Inspection procedures. Ability to : Learn City design and drafting standards, and inspection procedures. Use conventional and electronic engineering and survey equipment. Use computer aided drafting and design software and equipment to produce engineering drawings. Make estimates, compile statistics and other data, and prepare engineering drawings. Perform engineering studies and prepare reports. Apply mathematics, including trigonometry, basic electronics and lighting physics, to engineering computations. Read and interpret routine legal property descriptions. Maintain accurate detailed records and prepare reports. Read and interpret surveys and construction plans. Work effectively with others in a team-oriented environment. Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with co-workers, contractors, and the general public. Perform physical duties outside under varying weather conditions, which may involve climbing, bending, standing, cutting brush, using a sledgehammer, pulling manhole covers. Provide and wear personal protective equipment as required. Use software to prepare reports, engineering analysis and design, schedules, spreadsheets, etc. Use modern office practices, procedures and automated equipment.License or Certificate:
Possession of or ability to obtain, and maintain an appropriate, valid Oregon driver's license. Ability to obtain the following certifications within a reasonable amount of time. Typically obtained within twenty-four (24) months. Flagger Traffic Control Supervisor Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT): General Construction Inspector Hot Mix Asphalt Concrete (HMAC) Inspector Environmental and Erosion Constructor Inspector Traffic Signal Inspector (CTSI) What to Expect from ourSelection Process:
