The position performs sub-professional engineering work under the direction of the Section Engineer. Key Responsibilities Prepare engineering drawings, layouts, specifications, and project plans using AutoCAD Review and administer engineering permits and respond to Right-to-Know requests Perform engineering calculations, including grades, curves, areas, cuts/fills, material quantities, and costs Review and process sanitary sewer planning modules and exemptions Maintain and utilize sanitary sewer modeling software Coordinate project planning and design with other City departments and bureaus Assist residents, contractors, and others with City construction standards, ordinances, and permit requirements Conduct field work, inspections, and other duties as assigned Prepare reports and project documentation Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED required Associate's degree in Civil Engineering preferred At least 1 year of AutoCAD experience Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered Knowledge & Skills The successful candidate should have knowledge of basic engineering practices, field surveying and inspection operations, public works functions, and municipal construction standards. Strong ability to interpret field data and prepare accurate engineering drawings and specifications is required.
