Engineering Technician (Construction Materials Testing & Inspections)Direct HireGlen Allen, VA Position OverviewSeeking an Engineering Technician to support geotechnical engineering investigations, residential foundation and footing inspections, and commercial construction materials testing. This is a field-based position focused on third-party and special inspections on active construction sites throughout Central Virginia. This role is well suited for someone who enjoys hands-on work, learning technical procedures, and working as part of a professional inspection and testing team. ResponsibilitiesPerform field testing of construction materials including concrete, soils, and masonrySupport engineering soil studies and residential foundation and footing inspectionsAssist with laboratory testing of soils and concrete as neededAccurately document field observations, test results, and daily reportsCommunicate professionally with project managers, engineers, contractors, and clientsFollow established testing procedures, safety requirements, and company standards QualificationsEntry-level to one year of experience in construction materials testing or related construction workHigh school diploma or GED requiredValid driver's license with a positive driving recordAbility to lift and handle materials weighing up to 80 poundsBasic computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel Preferred QualificationsPrevious construction or inspection-related field experienceExposure to reading construction plans and specificationsFamiliarity with field documentation and report writing
