Job Description

About the Role Our client is seeking a highly qualified Senior Structural Designer with 10+ years of experience to support heavy industrial projects. In this role, you'll perform all aspects of structural design—including steel, concrete, and masonry—while also managing projects and leading teams of engineers and designers. Work is performed under the close supervision of senior engineering leadership, with significant autonomy and responsibility at the project level. What You'll Do Conceptualize and prepare structural plans, layouts, sections, details, and bills of materials Develop designs aligned with local codes, client requirements, and sound engineering practices Review structural calculations, equipment drawings, general arrangements, and other discipline drawings prior to design execution Develop material take-offs from design drawings and 3D models Manage teams of structural engineers and designers across small, medium, and large projects Coordinate project staffing and communicate resource needs to department leadership Develop structural schedules and integrate them into overall project schedules Maintain monthly project forecasts, including earned value and estimates to complete Develop workhour estimates and scopes of work for proposals Provide design guidance related to fabrication requirements such as connections and framing Create conceptual layouts and cost studies to identify efficient design solutions Assist with bid packages, scopes, drawings, and specifications Review vendor and fabrication drawings for compliance with project requirements Advise project leadership on design or scope changes in a timely manner Maintain organized, up-to-date design documentation and drawing records Perform self-checks on all deliverables for accuracy and constructability Mentor and provide technical guidance to structural designers Perform fieldwork as needed to gather dimensions and support construction activities Who They're Looking For Minimum 10 years of related structural design experience High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree in CAD/Drafting or similar is preferred Strong knowledge of standard engineering techniques and procedures Proficiency in AutoCAD is required ; Revit experience is a strong plus Proven experience producing steel and concrete drawings for industrial projects Familiarity with structural detailing for steel and concrete structures Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams Exposure to structural analysis tools such as RISA or STAAD is advantageous Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to manage fast-paced environments, tight schedules, and critical tolerances Willingness to visit job sites and perform fieldwork as required Ideal Candidate Profile A senior-level structural designer who enjoys both design execution and leadership Someone comfortable managing project teams and coordinating across disciplines A professional who values mentorship, quality standards, and continuous development

$120,000.00 - $180,000.00 per year
