Future team members need to be comfortable in the ambiguity of the unknown. Some ideas will work out and some won't, so we need to hold on loosely to concepts as we test them collectively. Description In this particular role we are looking for a senior design engineer to join our team and help lead future architecture platforms. The ideal candidate will have experience with full product architecture and all of the cross-functional specialties that need to be considered (mechanical, materials, reliability, EE, RF, de-sense, energy storage, display, input devices, etc). In this position, you will assist in the following activities: drive design from blue sky concept through a coherent and resolved architecture contribute novel design solutions to new and existing challenges, aspiring to think different prototyping new product ideas by 3D modeling, fabricating, and assembling mockups Preferred Qualifications Experience selecting appropriate engineering materials and manufacturing methods (CNC, forming, injection molding, rapid prototyping, etc.) able to characterize designs, run DOEs, and conduct root cause failure analysis genuine curiosity Minimum Qualifications BS Mechanical Engineering or equivalent required; MS preferred. 10+ years designing consumer electronics or similarly complex products 3D CAD modeling - i.e., NX (preferred), SolidWorks, ProE excellent communication skills-your ideas are only as good as your ability to share them Apple is an equal opportunity employer that is committed to inclusion and diversity. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $212,000 and $386,300, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs.
