Structural Engineering Background Location:
Temecula, CA Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM-3:30 PM; overtime and Saturdays as needed.

We relentlessly strive for excellence & are looking for a Draftsman with similar ideals. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented drafting professional with experience or education in structural engineering. The successful candidate will help develop fabrication-ready drawings and assist with engineering calculations for the structural systems, equipment supports, platforms, framing, and related components we design and build. Responsibilities Take products and projects from conceptual 2D CAD drawings through complete 3D designs using Autodesk Inventor. Create accurate fabrication, assembly, layout, and installation drawings for company products and structural systems. Assist with structural engineering calculations for equipment support systems, frames, platforms, mezzanines, duct supports, building-interface components, and other fabricated structural assemblies. Help evaluate loads, member sizing, connection details, anchorage concepts, material selection, and other design considerations under the direction of qualified engineering personnel. Research, design, evaluate, and improve existing engineered mechanical and structural products. Review drawings and designs for manufacturability, constructability, safety, efficiency, and compliance with applicable project requirements. Prepare material takeoffs and assist with estimating costs for manufactured equipment, engineering, and construction projects. Recommend design modifications that improve equipment performance, eliminate system malfunctions, reduce cost, or improve fabrication and installation efficiency. Assist with selecting manufacturing methods, fabrication processes, and construction approaches for product designs. Create initial concept drawings and layouts to support the Sales Department. Coordinate with project management, manufacturing, installation, sales, and engineering personnel to resolve design questions. Maintain organized drawing files, revisions, bills of materials, and supporting design documentation. Perform other duties as assigned. Job Requirements
  • High School Diploma with college prep classes/training/equivalent experience on Autodesk Inventor Software Experience with Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar CAD software.
Ability to read and interpret architectural, mechanical, structural, fabrication, and construction drawings. Basic to intermediate understanding of engineering principles, including structural loading, material behavior, fabrication methods, and construction practices. Strong math skills and the ability to assist with engineering calculations accurately and thoroughly. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a cross-functional team. Strong attention to detail, organization, problem-solving, and communication skills. Preferred skills Bilingual (Preferred) Structural engineering background, including formal education, coursework, drafting experience, or practical experience with fabricated structural systems Minimum of 3 years of layout drafting, mechanical drafting, structural drafting, or related design experience Working knowledge of Autodesk Inventor strongly preferred Familiarity with applicable building codes, structural design standards, and construction requirements is a plus Ability to use ERP or manufacturing management software Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
