This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Architectural Drafter, CAD Designer, Residential Designer, or AutoCAD Drafter with strong experience creating residential construction documents and customizing home plans. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of residential construction, architectural drafting, AutoCAD, construction documents, plan revisions, and Florida Building Code requirements. Experience with custom homes, luxury homes, production builders, residential architecture, or design-build projects is highly preferred. Key Responsibilities Maintain, organize, and update master residential plans and CAD files. Produce accurate residential construction drawings and architectural documents for production and custom homes. Create lot-specific plan drawings based on customer selections, option forms, field conditions, and direction from senior drafting staff. Perform plan revisions, modifications, and customization work while maintaining design standards, constructability, and code compliance. Support the design and development of high-end and luxury custom-home projects. Prepare and maintain DWG, DWF, PDF, and related drawing files for permitting, construction, review, and internal use. Maintain accurate records of drawing revisions, plan updates, construction details, and document versions. Coordinate with permitting teams and assist with revisions resulting from plan reviews. Work with Sales, Marketing, and Development teams on lot-fit plans and residential plan development. Assist sales teams with customized home-design requests while maintaining established design standards and deadlines. Support basic 3D modeling and rendering when applicable. Utilize Excel, PDF markup tools, and document-management software to organize project information and incorporate revisions. Follow CAD department standards, drafting procedures, and quality-control processes. Collaborate with internal drafting teams and outsourced drafting partners. Manage multiple residential drafting projects, revisions, deadlines, and competing priorities. Apply knowledge of Florida Building Code requirements to residential construction documents. Required Qualifications 5+ years of residential drafting experience, preferably with custom homes, luxury homes, production builders, residential architecture, or design-build projects. Advanced proficiency with AutoCAD; experience with AutoCAD 2019
is strongly preferred. Proven ability to produce residential construction documents, including: Floor plans Elevations Roof plans Sections Details Construction drawings Lot-specific plans Plan revisions Experience with residential plan customization and customer-driven revisions. Strong understanding of residential construction methods, materials, and terminology. Working knowledge of Florida Building Code (FBC) requirements. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Experience working with DWG, DWF, PDF, and other common architectural drawing formats. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a production-oriented environment. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Ability to work independently while collaborating with drafting, design, permitting, sales, and production teams. Must be available to work in-office Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM. Compensation & Benefits $30-$40 per hour, depending on residential drafting experience, AutoCAD proficiency, technical ability, and custom/luxury home experience.
