Distribution Designer III Ulteig $38.00hr - $51.50hr United States, Iowa, Ottumwa May 05, 2026 Description The Opportunity The Distribution Designer III is responsible for the creation of electric distribution designs. The Distribution Designer III coordinates with the clients, electric customers, and construction crews. Field work includes the collection of existing asset data before design creation and equipment location staking at the time of construction. The Distribution Designer III is capable of working independently and provides training and support for the Distribution Designer I & II roles. What You'll Do Create safe and efficient electric distribution designs using the Company standards Communicates with engineers for design approval Understands and follows the client's standards and changes to their client's needs Proficient in a variety of desktop, mobile, and survey software used for the design process Expert level of at least one design-related software Experience with complex distribution design situations Field data collection of existing assets when a more experienced perspective is needed Staking of facilities utilized. May be required to use survey-grade technology Creation of staking sheets Develops quality checklists and reviews other designers' work to ensure a quality product is delivered Reviews complex city, county, and state permit applications Sharing of knowledge with the design team, scheduling, clients, crews, and contractors Actively mentors junior staff The point of contact for distribution customers. Coordinates with clients, engineers, scheduling, right of way, third-party utilities, and construction crews Manages multiple projects simultaneously and ensures milestone deadlines are met Provides continuous updates on jobs to all parties involved with accurate date projection Strong customer skills What We Expect from You At a minimum, a two-year technical degree related to construction, GIS, or equivalent project management experience Preferred 5+ years of relevant experience in a Distribution Design or Distribution Construction Proficiency and working knowledge of Auto

Arc

GIS, NISC

Mapwise, Smallworld, Trimble Access, O-Calc, PLSCADD, or other distribution design software and tools.
