We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team in the Spring of 2027! As a Virtual Construction Engineer with Messer Construction Company, you will be required to quickly learn and become proficient in our processes and tools.
What Will You Do:
Spatially coordinate and manage virtual models for construction and field use. Produce and maintain 3D models throughout the life of a project. Coordinate with project team members to assist in the management of shop drawing/model production in support of our self-performance efforts. Review 3D models produced by architects and/or engineers and evaluate conformance to schematic design , design development , or construction document requirements. Coordinate and prepare models with Estimating for quantity extraction to enable Model-Based Cost Planning. Coordinate and prepare models with field engineers to export layout points for use with field survey equipment. Reality Capture - Coordinate and prepare point cloud/UAV data to work with design and construction model progression. Prepare models for AR/VR to be used in the field. Create models, model animations , video etc. to support project requirements and business development pursuits. Prepare models to be used for safety planning in s upport of our Zero Injury safety program. Support Messer's Quality Program by leveraging Messer's best practices. Apply basic knowledge and use of design drawings, shop drawings, and specifications, including MEP. Apply basic knowledge and understanding of Construction Scheduling and LEAN tools for alignment of VDC tasks.
What You Will Bring:
Bachelor's degree required. Civil Engineering, Architecture Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred. 0-2 years of experience in virtual construction engineering, preferably in a commercial construction environment. Basic experience in producing/manipulating 3D models using Autodesk Revit, Autodesk Navisworks Manage, Trimble SketchUp, or other model authoring software.
