The Senior CAD Engineer will work closely with Project Management, production, field teams, general contractors, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure that millwork assemblies are properly detailed, structurally supported, and ready for fabrication and installation. The ideal candidate has strong experience in commercial millwork, architectural woodworking, custom interiors, or a closely related fabrication environment and is comfortable identifying design conflicts, coordinating field conditions, and solving technical issues before they impact production or installation. Review and incorporate RFIs, submittal comments, design revisions, and field changes. Participate in project coordination meetings as needed. Conduct occasional job-site visits and field measurements to verify dimensions and existing conditions. Work closely with production to resolve fabrication questions and engineering issues. Assist with troubleshooting fit, installation, and constructability concerns. Maintain drawing accuracy, revision control, and project documentation. Support continuous improvement in drafting, engineering, and production processes. Strong ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications. Experience creating detailed shop drawings and production drawings. Strong understanding of millwork construction, materials, hardware, fabrication, and installation methods. Experience coordinating with general contractors, architects, Project Managers, and field personnel. Ability to identify drawing conflicts and resolve technical issues before fabrication. Understanding of blocking, framing, anchoring, and structural support requirements. Comfortable performing or supporting basic load and structural calculations. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a deadline-driven environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Preferred Qualifications Direct experience in commercial architectural millwork. Experience with high-end interiors, custom casework, cabinetry, exhibits, or specialty fabrication. Experience with field measuring and site verification. Familiarity with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Microvellum, Inventor, or other relevant CAD/design software. Experience working with CNC-driven fabrication or production environments. Knowledge of AWI standards or other architectural millwork standards is a plus. Ideal Candidate The strongest candidate will be highly technical, detail-oriented, and experienced in commercial millwork engineering. They should be comfortable taking architectural intent and turning it into a complete, accurate, and buildable package that production and installation teams can execute with confidence. This person should also be comfortable working directly with Project Managers and general contractors to resolve framing, blocking, field-condition, and design issues before they become production or installation problems. #IND1
