Job Description

Summary of Position:
The Engineering Designer/Drafter supports the engineering services that the company provides to business clients engaged in the construction or operation of telecommunications inside and outside plant facilities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Interpret/define the project scope required from client plans and specifications for inside and outside plant Independently obtain project-related information from the Internet, company library texts, and online resources Prepare highly detailed work documents, maps, drawings, tables and lists necessary to: Apply for and acquire permits by authorities having jurisdiction Enable the client to solicit bids for construction of the work Enable others to construct the work in compliance with client plans and specs Enable the client to operate the inside or outside plant Incorporate and practice safety code regulations pertaining to the project work Responsibly work with clients, engineers, project managers, contractors, and peers Skillfully use Windows OS, Microsoft Office suite, and
AutoCAD Essential Education and Qualifications:
Civil Engineering Technology Degree or equivalent two year post-secondary degree in related field or possess equivalent industry-related work experience Must be honest, trustworthy, self-motivated, organized and responsible Must have excellent oral and written communication skills Valid Driver's License Must be willing to travel and work in the field or on-site
Preferred Skills:
Outside plant construction/maintenance, telecommunications or AutoCAD experience is highly preferred

The main physical demands of this job include sitting at a desk/computer for long periods of time. Also, the job may require focusing on a computer screen for several hours at a time.
Wage range:
