Construction Drafter Horizons East Building Company Jacksonville, NC | Full-Time | $23.00 to $28.00/hour Horizons East is a locally owned homebuilder serving Jacksonville and surrounding counties. We build with integrity, clear communication, and a commitment to quality-values our team and community can count on. We're hiring a detail-oriented Draftsman to produce accurate residential construction drawings that support efficient, high-quality builds. This role plays a critical part in translating design intent into build-ready plans that guide estimating, purchasing, and field execution. Key Responsibilities Draft complete residential plan sets, including foundation, floor, roof, plumbing, electrical, and elevation plans. Create detailed drawings for built-in cabinetry, fireplaces, elevation options, foundations, footings, wall sections, and framing Utilize digital tools including Excel, Microsoft Outlook, SharePoint, and Teams efficiently Interpret architectural concepts, technical specifications, and construction requirements Revise plans based on feedback, design changes, and field conditions Collaborate with estimating, construction, and office teams to ensure plans align with build standards Maintain organized digital drawing files and documentation Support continuous improvement in drafting standards and workflows Generate site specific plans with HEBC selections and requirements Generate "house-box" fit preliminary plan utilizing mapping data Proficient in switching tasks as HEBC/owner will have a variety of real estate projects Qualifications Prior experience as a drafter or a degree/certification in drafting or a related field (required) Strong technical drawing skills with close attention to detail Knowledge of residential construction methods and materials Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical specifications Experience with drafting software; Revit Architecture by Autodesk preferred Strong communication and collaboration skills Comfortable working in a fast-paced, detail-driven environment Ability to relocate to or commute to Jacksonville, NC (required) Pay & Benefits $23.00 to $28.00 per hour , depending on experience Full-time, in-person position Health insurance Dental insurance Stable schedule with early Fridays Supportive, growth-focused team environment Why Join Horizons East Be part of a small, forward-thinking homebuilding team See your drawings directly influence real homes and job sites Work in a culture built on ownership, quality, and continuous improvement Opportunity to grow your drafting skills within a residential construction environment
