Civil Design Engineer Job Description Join a leading Civil Survey firm based in North Carolina, seeking dedicated Civil Land Development personnel to be part of a dynamic team in the Northeast Raleigh area. Responsibilities Prepare construction documents for residential subdivisions, commercial site plans, and various civil site development projects. Grow professionally in areas such as site layout, stormwater management, grading, utility design, erosion control, and permitting. Develop site design plans including layout, grading, storm drainage, water, and sanitary sewer systems. Produce mass grading plans, roadway grades, alignments, and earthwork calculations. Prepare construction quantity takeoffs and support subdivision layout. Complete supporting calculations and permitting documents. Coordinate with internal teams and external clients. Perform both field work and office-based design tasks. Support multiple projects simultaneously and work independently. Essential Skills Expertise in Civil 3D, Civil engineering, Land development, Stormwater, and Site development. Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D (2018 or higher), Excel, and MS Word. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Experience with site and construction permitting processes. Familiarity with reading and applying codes, regulations, and design guidelines. Ability to manage competing deadlines in a team-oriented environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications A.A.S. or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering. Minimum of 5-10 years of civil site/CADD design experience. Comfortable interacting with clients and the public. Professional Engineer (PE) and EIT certifications are advantageous. Work Environment This position is based out of the office in a relaxed, laid-back environment near the Rocky Mount area. It offers a great opportunity for professionals to work closer to home. The role requires a mix of field work and office-based tasks. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Rocky Mount, NC.
