Design Director Position Overview:
Greg Norman Collection is seeking a product-driven, commercially minded Designer to join our growing team. This role is responsible for creating and developing seasonal assortments that balance innovation, trend relevance, and commercial success. The ideal candidate has a strong eye for color, print, fabric, fit, and silhouette, with a passion for delivering product that meets both customer and business needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop commercially successful seasonal assortments across core and fashion product categories.
- Research market trends, consumer insights, and competitive activity to identify product opportunities and inform seasonal direction.
- Develop seasonal color palettes, print concepts, pattern stories, and product aesthetics aligned with brand strategy.
- Partner with CAD and development teams to execute graphics, prints, trims, branding elements, and product details.
- Maintain expertise in fabrics, garment construction, fit, performance technologies, and product innovation.
- Create and maintain Tech Packs, Bills of Materials (BOMs), development documentation, and seasonal records.
- Collaborate with Merchandising, Product Development, and Technical Design throughout the development process, including fit sessions and product reviews.
- Develop presentations and product marketing tools, including line sheets, hangtags, labels, packaging, and customer-facing materials.
- Manage seasonal development calendars and ensure milestones and deadlines are consistently achieved.
- Drive opportunities for product innovation, assortment growth, and commercial success.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of apparel design experience, preferably in sportswear, golf, lifestyle, or value retail.
- Strong understanding of the apparel product lifecycle from concept through production.
- Proven ability to build commercially successful assortments that balance innovation with business objectives.
- Expertise in color, print, pattern, fabric development, fit, and garment construction.
- Experience collaborating with mills and suppliers to develop fabrics, materials, and product innovations.
- Strong organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
ª Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, PLM systems, and industry-standard apparel design tools.
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Fashion Design or a related field preferred.
