Role Description This full-time on-site Designer role is based in New York, NY at Versa Group/Gracedale Fabric Mills. The Designer will create and refine apparel concepts and fabric designs aligned with brand guidelines, market trends, and customer expectations across men's dress, casual, and sportswear categories. Daily responsibilities include developing sketches and technical drawings, preparing color stories and fabric layouts, collaborating with product development and merchandising teams, and ensuring design packages are accurate and production-ready. The role involves researching fashion trends and competitive products, participating in line reviews, and adjusting designs based on feedback from internal stakeholders and brand partners. The Designer will also help maintain organized digital and physical design archives and contribute to seasonal presentations for both branded and private label programs. Qualifications -TECH
PACK ORIENTED. NEEDS EXPERIENCE.
Demonstrated skills in apparel and fabric design, including sketching, technical drawing, and creating cohesive collections. Proficiency in industry-standard design software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and strong digital file management practices. Experience researching fashion trends, consumer preferences, and competitive assortments to inform design decisions. Ability to translate brand guidelines and market requirements into commercially viable designs for men's dress, casual, and sportswear. Strong collaboration and communication skills for working with product development, merchandising, and production teams. Attention to detail in preparing tech packs, specifications, and color/fabric standards suitable for manufacturing. Understanding of garment construction, materials, and production processes; experience with vertical manufacturing is a plus. Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or a related field, or equivalent professional experience in apparel design. Ability to work on-site in New York, NY and manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
