SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
The Electrical & Structural Designer is responsible for creating architectural, structural, and electrical designs for modular building structures using computer-aided design software and other technical tools. This position supports the development of construction documents, engineering layouts, and production drawings while ensuring compliance with applicable building codes, safety standards, and project requirements.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Create 3D renderings, site plans, floor plans, elevations, and detailed building layouts using CADD (Computer-Aided Design and Drafting) software. Develop structural framing plans, foundation layouts, connection details, and fabrication drawings for modular buildings. Prepare electrical layouts, panel schedules, load calculations, one-line diagrams, lighting plans, and power distribution drawings. Coordinate architectural, structural, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems to ensure design compatibility and constructability. Ensure all designs comply with local, state, and federal building codes, zoning regulations, electrical codes, and safety standards. Prepare construction documents, project specifications, and material selections. Collaborate with engineers, architects, project managers, production teams, and other designers to ensure design feasibility and structural integrity. Review and revise drawings based on engineering comments, client requests, and field conditions. Assist in obtaining permits and responding to plan review comments when required. Meet with clients, vendors, and project stakeholders as needed to discuss project requirements, budgets, timelines, and design concepts. Support manufacturing and construction teams by providing technical drawing clarification throughout the project lifecycle.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
Proficiency with Revit by Autodesk required. Experience using AutoCAD and/or other drafting software preferred. Experience preparing architectural, structural, and/or electrical construction documents. Knowledge of building codes, structural design principles, and electrical systems. Experience in modular construction, commercial, hospitality, multifamily, residential, restaurant, or office design preferred. Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and electrical plans and specifications. Ability to interact and collaborate with engineers, architects, project managers, production teams, and other designers. Undergraduate coursework or degree in Architecture, Engineering, Drafting, Construction Technology, or a related field preferred.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with modular or off-site construction. Understanding of National Electrical Code (NEC), International Building Code (IBC), and applicable structural design standards. Experience creating shop drawings and fabrication drawings. Knowledge of steel framing, wood framing, and modular building systems. Experience coordinating designs within a manufacturing environment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, and communicate effectively. The employee may occasionally be required to visit manufacturing and construction sites and may need to stoop, kneel, crouch, or climb stairs. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Full-time position with an average 8-hour workday. Primarily office-based with occasional visits to manufacturing facilities and project sites. Must be able to reliably commute to Henderson, Nevada, or relocate to the area prior to employment. Must comply with company policies, safety requirements, and quality standards.
Pay:
$60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
