Join an innovative design team located in New York City and take part in directing dynamic projects within the realm of retail interiors. We are seeking a dynamic architectural design expert to spearhead and bring life to concept-driven projects with an emphasis on retail settings. This role demands a unique blend of creative vision and precision in executing designs. The chosen candidate will excel in managing retail store planning, behind-the-scenes coordination, and the crafting of retail fixtures and bespoke millwork.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with clients during the design process to ensure their vision aligns with project goals. Support the design director in managing and directing the design team. Formulate preliminary retail requirement programs and execute schematic designs. Analyze and document design scope and budgets pertaining to retail fixtures and custom elements. Liaise with clients, consultants, and project teams to outline design specifications. Conduct and present design strategies through organized presentations. Curate and specify furniture, finishes, and accessories for projects. Design and manage the installation of retail fixtures, such as display walls, gondolas, and point-of-sale units. Innovate and refine custom millwork designs, ensuring accuracy in details and fabrication intentions. Review engineering and design documentation to ensure conformity with design objectives. Conduct site visits to monitor project progress and ensure adherence to design plans.Necessary Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Architecture; a Master's degree is advantageous. Over five years of sustained professional experience in retail interiors, especially within branded environments. Proven capability in concept creation and design for retail and branded landscapes. Expertise in retail store planning, particularly in sales and operational layouts. Experienced in crafting and managing custom fixtures and millwork projects. Proficient in design and rendering software including SketchUp, Revit, AutoCAD, and Adobe Creative Suite. Skilled in generating photo-realistic renderings utilizing Enscape and AI-driven platforms. Effective in harmonizing design creativity with technical execution throughout all project phases. Detail-focused with the ability to manage multiple projects in a vibrant setting.
