  • Civil Engineering Services Position Overview We are seeking an experienced AutoCAD Designer to support our civil engineering services team by producing accurate 2D drawings and 3D site models, assisting with site planning and land development projects, and ensuring deliverables meet engineering standards and client requirements.
The role focuses on translating engineering concepts into detailed CAD and Civil 3D deliverables, coordinating with engineers, surveyors, and project managers, and contributing to efficient project delivery from concept through construction documentation. Key Responsibilities Create and revise detailed civil engineering drawings, plans, profiles and cross-sections using AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D. Develop 3D site models, grading plans, and visualizations to support design and constructability reviews. Support site planning and layout activities, integrating architectural, landscape and utility requirements into CAD deliverables. Prepare construction documents, details, quantity take-offs and material lists for permitting and bidding. Import and process survey data and GIS information to produce accurate base drawings and as-built models. Collaborate closely with engineers, surveyors, permitting authorities and project managers to ensure designs are coordinated and meet regulatory standards. Perform drafting and drawing QA/QC to maintain accuracy, drawing standards and consistent file management. Maintain and update CAD templates, standard details and layer management to improve productivity and quality. Provide field support as needed to reconcile site conditions with design documents and assist with construction administration. Assist project managers with scheduling, documentation and progress reporting as required. Qualifications Bachelors degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience. 3+ years of hands-on experience producing civil engineering drawings and models for site planning or land development projects. Proven proficiency in Civil Engineering, Site Planning and 3D Modeling (required). Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D (preferred and highly desirable). Experience with drafting, preparing engineering drawings and construction documentation. Familiarity with land development processes, permitting, GIS and survey data integration. Basic understanding of structural design principles and utility/drainage design practices. Experience supporting project management activities, schedules and coordination on multi-discipline projects. Excellent attention to detail, strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently and in collaborative teams. Good verbal and written communication skills; ability to liaise with clients, regulators and contractors. Willingness to perform occasional site visits and field verification.
