We are seeking a highly skilled Detailer / Draftsman to prepare submittal packages and fabrication drawings for commercial and multifamily construction projects. This position is available remote, hybrid, or in-office . We are open to part-time production drafting or full-time with project management responsibilities. Position Overview The Detailer will be responsible for preparing complete, accurate, and professional submittal packages and shop drawings for architectural aluminum systems. The ideal candidate understands construction sequencing, Florida Building Code requirements, and how drawings translate directly to fabrication and installation. For remote candidates, strong communication skills and the ability to work independently are essential. Full-time candidates may also assist with project coordination, RFIs, change orders, and field support. Responsibilities Prepare detailed shop drawings for railings, balconies, screen enclosures, canopies, and custom aluminum assemblies Produce complete submittal packages product data, finish specs, and hardware schedules Interpret architectural and structural drawings Coordinate dimensions, embed conditions, and mounting details Ensure compliance with Florida Building Code and project specifications Revise drawings per architect/engineer comments Prepare fabrication-ready drawings for shop production Assist with material takeoffs

Full-Time Role May Also Include:

Project coordination with GCs and field teams RFI preparation and tracking Change order documentation Schedule coordination Virtual meetings with clients and project teams Occasional site visits (if local) Qualifications 3+ years experience detailing architectural aluminum, railing systems, or similar metal products Proficiency in AutoCAD (required) Experience with Bluebeam, Excel, and PDF markup tools Strong understanding of construction drawings Knowledge of aluminum fabrication methods and installation practices Familiarity with Florida Building Code preferred Strong attention to detail and accuracy Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Self-motivated and organized (especially for remote work) Compensation Competitive hourly or salary based on experience Flexible schedule for part-time candidates Remote flexibility available Growth opportunity with expanding company Performance-based bonus potential About KN Edwards Sales KN Edwards Sales works on commercial and multifamily projects throughout Florida and other markets.
