Architectural Designer Job Description This Architectural Designer role offers the opportunity to contribute to commercial projects in a small, collaborative architectural practice. You will use Revit and your drafting experience to support the development of construction documents and design solutions, working closely with partners and designers to deliver high-quality architectural work. Responsibilities Produce accurate architectural drawings and construction documents using Revit. Support the design and development of commercial projects from concept through documentation. Draft plans, elevations, sections, and details based on design direction and project requirements. Collaborate with partners and designers to refine design concepts and ensure constructability. Assist in coordinating architectural documents with other disciplines as needed. Apply knowledge gained from academic training or internships to real-world project work. Maintain organized project files and ensure documentation aligns with office standards. Essential Skills 1-3 years of experience in architectural design, drafting, or a related role. Proficiency with Revit for architectural drafting and design. Experience drafting in an academic setting or during an internship. Experience working on commercial architectural projects. Strong understanding of architectural design principles and construction documentation. Ability to prepare clear, detailed construction documents. Bachelor's degree in architecture or a closely related field. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience as an architectural drafter or designer in a professional setting. Familiarity with the full lifecycle of commercial projects, from design through documentation. Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality drawings and documents. Ability to work effectively in a small team environment and take direction from multiple partners. Work Environment The firm is a small architectural practice located in Salem, MA, consisting of approximately six team members, including three partners and three designers, with one team member working part-time. The environment is collaborative and closely knit, providing direct interaction with partners and opportunities for mentorship. The team primarily uses Revit and other architectural design and drafting tools to produce construction documents for commercial projects. After the first few months of training, the firm offers flexibility in scheduling, supporting a balanced work arrangement while maintaining project commitments. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Salem, MA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $32.00/hr.
