https://zicana.com/ Position Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Architectural Drafter / Estimator to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who wants to be involved in all phases of a project - from initial drawings and estimating through fabrication and completion. You will work closely with our sales, administration, and fabrication teams, contributing technical expertise and ensuring projects are accurately scoped and executed. Candidates should be comfortable managing multiple projects at once and working both independently and as part of a collaborative team. Key Responsibilities DesignDrafting Develop detailed CAD drawings based on architectural and technical plans Create technical drawings for client review and digital fabrication Review drawings for accuracy, completeness, and feasibility Assist in refining designs to align with both aesthetic and fabrication requirements EstimatingQuoting Perform detailed material take-offs and estimations from architectural drawings Generate accurate quotes based on project scope and specifications Adjust estimates based on revisions, scope changes, or updated material pricing Ensure all estimates reflect accurate layouts and fabrication requirements Technical SupportCollaboration Provide technical support to the sales team during project development Participate in client discussions when technical clarification is required Work closely with fabrication team to ensure designs are properly executed Assist project managers and sales team during and after site visits Project Coordination Communicate with internal teams to ensure alignment on scope, timelines, and deliverables Identify and resolve design or scope issues proactively Ensure all technical details are clearly documented and communicated Support projects through to completion Required Skills Proficiency in AutoCAD (required) Strong ability to read and interpret architectural drawings Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills General computer proficiency (Microsoft Word, Excel, email, etc.) Preferred Qualifications Experience reviewing architectural drawings Experience working on construction sites or in a fabrication environment SketchUp or other 3D CAD experience Background in architecture, interior design, or related field Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus What We're Looking For Strong work ethic and willingness to learn Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines Team-oriented mindset with the ability to work independently Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail Professional communication and presentation Additional Requirements Ability to travel locally (Long Island / NYC) for job site visits when needed (reimbursed) Must be able to commute daily to Westbury, NY In-person role only (no remote work) CompensationBenefits Full-time position Competitive compensation (based on experience) Health insurance Paid time off Professional development opportunities Before Applying Please submit a resume and cover letter Portfolio is strongly preferred Candidates may be asked to complete an AutoCAD and/or material take-off test Work Location Westbury, NY - In Person Schedule Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
