Job Description
The Architectural Drafter (CAD Drafter) produces detailed shop and installation drawings for commercial architectural panel and metal roofing systems. This position suits a drafter with 2-4 years of experience who can work independently, interpret complex construction documents, and contribute directly to accurate, timely project delivery. Responsibilities Develop detailed shop drawings based on project scope, customer plans, and specifications for architectural panels, metal roofing, and building envelope systems. Interpret internal order documentation, architectural plans, and structural drawings to create accurate and constructible details. Produce floor plans, elevations, sections, and detailed drawings that align with company standards and project requirements. Revise drawings based on customer feedback, redlines, and internal review comments, ensuring all changes are accurately captured. Generate complete and accurate bills of material (BOM) from finalized drawing sets to support procurement and fabrication. Perform project take-offs using Bluebeam or similar tools to quantify materials and support estimating and planning activities. Coordinate with engineering teams to support panel analysis, design validation, and resolution of technical issues. Conduct thorough quality checks on drawings and documentation to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with standards. Support sales and project teams with technical drawings, clarifications, and documentation throughout the project lifecycle. Essential Skills 2-4 years of CAD drafting experience in an architectural, construction, or related environment. Proficiency in AutoCAD, including creating, editing, and managing detailed drawings and drawing sets. Proficiency in Revit, with the ability to produce and modify architectural models and associated documentation. Strong understanding of construction drawings, detailing, and how drawings translate to field installation. Ability to manage multiple deadlines, prioritize workload, and handle several projects simultaneously. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all drawings, notes, and documentation. Familiarity with architectural panels, metal roofing, or building envelope systems. Experience supporting commercial or industrial construction projects. Additional Skills & Qualifications SketchUp experience preferred for visualization and conceptual modeling. Experience working on architectural panel, metal roofing, or building envelope projects is highly beneficial. Experience in commercial or industrial construction environments is an advantage. Comfort using Bluebeam or similar tools for digital take-offs and markups. Work Environment This role involves working in a professional office or design environment using AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, and related drafting and modeling software on a daily basis. The Architectural Drafter collaborates closely with engineering, sales, and project teams and typically works standard business hours, with occasional schedule flexibility to meet project deadlines. Work focuses on commercial and industrial construction projects involving architectural panels, metal roofing, and building envelope systems, with an emphasis on precision, documentation quality, and adherence to established drafting standards Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Deland, FL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $34.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
