Design Engineer — Civil Infrastructure | Murfreesboro, TN Full-time • On-site Overview Our Civil Engineering Department is committed to delivering high-quality, cost-effective, and timely design solutions to municipalities, developers, architects, and private clients. The team specializes in a wide range of civil infrastructure projects, including residential developments, commercial site design, and municipal infrastructure systems. We are seeking a Design Engineer to support the planning, design, and execution of civil infrastructure projects. This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse developments while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and engaging directly with clients and regulatory agencies. Key Responsibilities Perform engineering calculations including: Hydrology and hydraulics (drainage analysis) Stormwater management and detention systems Storm sewer, water distribution, and sanitary sewer systems Develop concept plans and detailed civil layouts for: Residential subdivisions Multi-family developments Commercial and industrial sites Design infrastructure systems including: Roadways and subdivisions Stormwater systems Water and sanitary sewer networks Manage projects through municipal and regulatory approval processes Coordinate with CAD technicians for drafting and design development Prepare technical documentation including: Specifications Construction contracts SWPPP (Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans) Permit applications Support construction administration , including: Reviewing shop drawings and submittals Responding to RFIs Ensuring compliance with design intent Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) preferred (or ability to obtain) Experience in civil infrastructure design, land development, or municipal projects Strong knowledge of: Drainage and stormwater systems Water and wastewater infrastructure Local and state regulations Experience with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D) Strong project management and organizational skills Work Environment & Expectations Hybrid collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders Client-facing role with regular meetings and presentations Occasional extended hours based on project demands Opportunity for professional growth within a dynamic engineering team

Pay:

$90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
