Our team is growing, and we are seeking a highly motivated Tunnel Designer to contribute to challenging and high-profile infrastructure projects across the region. You will work closely with your Technical Director and Project Managers alongside our customers on some of North America's most significant projects.
Your key responsibilities will be:
Prepare technical reports and drawings in the design of underground works, including tunnels, shafts, cut-and-cover structures, mined caverns Perform engineering and analysis for the design of tunnels and shafts Provide input in digital delivery and information management of various projects from conception through to completion Communicate design work through preparation of drawing sketches indicating support types, geometry, construction sequencing, and instrumentation Use tunnel analysis and design software such as FLAC/FLAC3D, Plaxis, Sofistik, AutoCAD, Revit, and/or others Work in multidisciplinary teams for delivery of small, medium, and large-scale Projects Your skills. On top of that, you will have: Master of Science in Underground Construction/Tunnelling, Geotechnical, or Structural Engineering A familiarity of typical structural and geotechnical software, BIM, and parametric design modelling (Dynamo, Grasshopper). Exposure to work within the tunnel industry as it would advance structural and geotechnical analysis experience and familiarity with aspects related to seismic design and scripts for multi-objective design optimization Good time-management skills, ability to multi-task, and ability to sustain focus on longer tasks Ability to work across different geographical areas including distributed work centers Ability and willingness to travel A place to work and so much more At COWI, we work together with our customers to shape a sustainable and liveable world.
