Full-Time Summary:
The senior designer is responsible for developing, managing, and recording technical aspects of the project. They work closely with the project managers, MEP engineers, architects, drafters and designers on conceptual designs, presentations, design development, and production. Senior designers must be responsible for project deliverables, meeting overall project design schedules, as well as preparing and presenting design presentations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Exhibit design and technological sophistication, and is self-starting, energetic, and creative Ability to contribute to AND lead a team through the conceptual, schematic, design development, construction documents, specifications, construction administration, and FF&E phases Extensive IBC, ADA, and FHA code/accessibility knowledge with ability to apply information to detailed construction document Proficient in quality control reviews Coordinate between architect, mechanical, electrical, structural, plumbing, and lighting consultants Manage project timelines, schedules, resources, and project budget Resolve complex technical/design issues and provide guidance to team and consultants Participate in and lead team discussions on technical and other project related issues Maintain client relationships while multi-tasking/working on multiple projects Ability to select material finishes Organize and lead photoshoots of completed projects Lead and mentor younger staff Meet budgetary goals set forth by the Director of Architecture & Design Create and present interior design concepts in response to client needs Determine the client's goals and requirements of the project Create a timeline for the project and estimate project material costs Provide floor plans as needed for Consultants or Director of Architecture & Design Provide any design work necessary for marketing and sales Interview and meet with clients Explain designs to and meet with Project Managers when necessary Make site visits prior to design and during construction as needed Promote and sell design ideas to clients Coordinate and work with dental equipment specialists, cabinet makers, and IT companies Attend company trade shows and promote company as needed Work with consultants, contractors, fabricators, specification, writers, and regulatory agencies to meet overall project objectives Participate in the construction administration of projects and review of submittals and finish samples Must present self in professional manner at all times
QUALIFICATIONS,KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIRED
Fluent in written and spoken English Valid work permit (USA) Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Sketchup, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word Outstanding graphic presentation skills B.S Degree of Interior Design or Interior Architecture required Minimum of 5+ years of experience required Strong leadership, organizational, communication and relationship management skills Knowledge of County/City regulations desired Must be willing to travel when required Excellent attention to detail
PHYSICAL ABILITY
Ability to work on a computer for extended periods of time to include typing and working on a computer monitor Ability to communicate orally with management, other co-workers and customers both individually and in front of a group is imperative Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time Extended working hours and travel may be necessary Ability to lift 15 to 20 lbs.
