Job Description

Job Title:
Architectural Designer Job Description As an Architectural Designer, you will contribute to projects from the early concept phase through to construction administration, balancing creativity with technical rigor. You will conduct field investigations, support code analysis, and develop and communicate ideas through diagrams, models, drawings, and presentations. Your role will involve building, managing, and maintaining 3D models for design, visualization, and documentation goals. You will translate design directions and comments into resolved project documentation and produce drawing sets aligned with design intent. Additionally, you will support construction administration tasks and identify gaps and opportunities to advance both design and documentation. Responsibilities Contribute to projects from early concept through construction administration. Conduct field investigations and incorporate findings into documentation. Support code analysis and application of relevant standards. Develop and communicate ideas through diagrams, models, drawings, and presentations. Build, manage, and maintain 3D models for design, visualization, and documentation goals. Translate design direction, revisions, and comments into resolved project documentation. Produce and coordinate drawing sets across internal and consultant teams. Support construction administration tasks such as submittals, RFIs, pay applications, punch lists, and change orders. Identify gaps and opportunities, resolve issues, and help move design and documentation forward. Essential Skills Professional degree in Architecture (B.Arch or M.Arch) with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a design-focused practice. Demonstrated design strength with clear conceptual thinking and strong graphic and verbal communication. Commitment to translating design intent into buildable solutions. Experience contributing to projects across multiple phases (SD through CA). Working knowledge of building systems, materials, detailing, and constructability. Ability to move fluidly between digital and analog media: sketch, model, and drawing. Proficiency in Revit, including model organization, documentation, and coordination. Additional Skills & Qualifications Fluency in Rhino or SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite or Affinity, and visualization tools (Enscape, Lumion, etc.) is preferred. Must be organized, self-directed, and able to manage time across multiple efforts. Clear communication skills with the ability to contribute responsibly in team settings and engage in client discussions. Actively pursuing licensure or intent to do so. Work Environment The position requires working Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM, in an office setting. A flexible schedule is available for certain employee circumstances. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Virginia Beach, VA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $62000.00
