Job Description

Auburn Ridge is a leader in high-quality building products and custom cabinetry. We are seeking a detail-oriented Design Engineer to transform approved sales and design concepts into accurate, manufacturable plans that support efficient production, installation, and delivery. Position Summary The Design Engineer is responsible for creating clear engineering documentation, resolving standard and non-standard design conditions, and ensuring projects are accurate, buildable, and aligned with Auburn Ridge quality standards. This role works closely with customers, sales, manufacturing, and installation teams to minimize rework, reduce waste, and ensure successful project execution. Key Responsibilities Engineer cabinetry and millwork projects from approved designs through production release Create and revise working drawings using AutoCAD and Cabinet Vision Resolve field conditions, design conflicts, and manufacturability concerns Develop CNC programming and shop documentation for production Coordinate project schedules, deliveries, and installations Prepare estimates, quotes, sales orders, and change orders Collaborate with internal teams and customers to ensure project success Maintain accurate project documentation and production records Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required Associate degree in Drafting, Construction Technology, Engineering Technology, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered 2-3 years of drafting, engineering, cabinetry, millwork, or construction-related experience preferred General knowledge of residential construction practices Strong understanding of cabinet construction and manufacturing processes Experience with AutoCAD, Cabinet Vision (2024 or newer), Microsoft Excel, and ERP systems (Global Shop Solutions preferred) Ability to read architectural drawings and construction documents Strong math, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills Ability to independently resolve engineering challenges while balancing design intent, manufacturability, scheduling, and execution requirements Why Auburn Ridge?
