Job Title:
Drafting Manager Job Description The Drafting Manager leads the engineering and drafting teams to produce highly accurate, fully buildable, and installation-ready drawings for cabinet, millwork, and related construction projects. This role establishes and maintains drafting and engineering standards, oversees detail libraries and cabinet systems, and ensures that all deliverables meet rigorous quality expectations. The Drafting Manager also plays a key role in coaching, mentoring, and developing engineers and drafters while contributing to a strong culture that values service, quality, and long-term commitment. Responsibilities Oversee and manage engineering and drafting teams to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality output. Ensure all drawings and construction documents are fully buildable, manufacturable, and installation-ready. Develop, implement, and enforce engineering and drafting standards across all projects. Maintain and continuously improve detail libraries and cabinet systems used by the drafting and engineering teams. Review drawings and documentation to ensure the department consistently meets high accuracy and quality standards. Coach, mentor, and develop engineers and drafters to enhance their technical skills and professional growth. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support project delivery and resolve technical or design-related issues. Promote a culture of quality, service, and continuous improvement within the drafting and engineering departments. Essential Skills At least 10 years of experience in cabinet engineering, millwork, or related construction fields. Proficiency with Cabinet Vision, Microvellum, or similar cabinet engineering and drafting software. Strong experience using AutoCAD for drafting and construction documentation. Experience in drafting and engineering principles related to cabinets, millwork, and construction. Ability to develop and enforce drafting and engineering standards and best practices. Strong leadership skills with experience overseeing technical teams. High attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, buildable drawings. Effective communication skills to guide and support engineers and drafters. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience creating and maintaining construction documents for cabinet and millwork projects. Hands-on experience with cabinet systems and detail libraries in a production or construction environment. Engineering or drafting within the construction industry. Demonstrated ability to mentor and train team members to improve technical capabilities. Interest in contributing to a culture that values long-term relationships, service, and quality. Work Environment This is a full-time, on-site role with a typical schedule of Monday through Friday, averaging 45-50 hours per week. The environment emphasizes a strong, supportive culture with high employee tenure and a shared commitment to service and quality. The Drafting Manager works closely with engineering and drafting teams using tools such as AutoCAD, Cabinet Vision, Microvellum, and related drafting and construction documentation technologies in a professional office and production-oriented setting. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Freedom, WI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $80000.00
