Automation Specialist Southern Response Services - 4.1 Mobile, AL Job Details Temp-to-hire $36 - $40 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Industrial controls Fanuc Industrial equipment troubleshooting Electrical motors Continuous improvement Blueprint reading Manufacturing Associate's degree Manufacturing company experience Full Job Description Automation Technician - Specialty Production Equipment (Industrial Setting)Position Overview We are seeking a skilled and hands-on Automation Technician to support, troubleshoot, and maintain specialized production equipment in a fast-paced industrial environment. This role is critical to ensuring equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across automated systems. The ideal candidate has strong experience with PLCs, electrical systems, and industrial automation , and thrives in a high-production setting where problem-solving and urgency matter. Key Responsibilities Troubleshoot and repair automated production equipment , including electrical, mechanical, and control systems Diagnose issues with PLC systems (Siemens preferred) , including basic programming and modifications Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on automation systems, robotics, sensors, and drives Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and ladder logic diagrams Support installation, commissioning, and startup of new or upgraded equipment Work with maintenance and engineering teams to improve equipment performance and reliability Calibrate and maintain instrumentation, sensors, and control devices Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns to reduce downtime and production loss Maintain accurate maintenance logs, reports, and documentation Ensure all work complies with safety standards and company policies Required Qualifications 3+ years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment Hands-on experience with PLC troubleshooting (Siemens preferred) Strong understanding of electrical systems (24V-480V), motors, VFDs, and control panels Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical drawings Experience with automated systems, conveyors, robotics, or specialty production equipment Solid mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills Ability to work independently and in a team environment Preferred Qualifications Experience with robotics (Fanuc, ABB, Mitsubishi, etc.) Familiarity with
HMI/SCADA
systems Associate's degree or technical certification in Automation, Mechatronics, or Electrical Technology Experience in high-speed or specialty manufacturing environments Work Environment Industrial production facility (may include heat, noise, and heavy equipment) Ability to stand, climb, lift, and work in tight spaces as needed May require shift work, overtime, or on-call support Pay & Benefits Competitive hourly rate based on experience Overtime opportunities Per diem (only if traveling for a job)Pay:
