Position Purpose The primary responsibility of a Service Technician is to perform maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on agricultural and lawn equipment—ensuring high-quality workmanship, safety, and reliable service for customers. Your primary job duties Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair on agricultural equipment, tractors, and lawn maintenance equipment, ensuring efficient and accurate service. Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues, including work on small engines such as handheld equipment and mowers. Interpret schematics, technical diagrams, and manufacturer documentation to identify and address equipment issues. Build, install, and modify equipment or systems as needed to meet service requirements. Complete welding and basic fabrication work to support repairs and equipment modifications. Coordinate with Service Advisors and Service Leadership on job progress, updates, and repair needs. Accurately document all work performed, including diagnostics, parts used, and labor details. Ensure all parts and accessories used in repairs are properly recorded on work orders. Maintain productivity and efficiency targets while delivering high-quality service outcomes. Participate in required training and proactively stay current on product updates, service bulletins, and industry developments. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, including tools and work areas. Provide and maintain personal hand tools required to complete assigned work. Other duties as assigned to support the team and customers. Your knowledge, skills, abilities, and more High school diploma or GED required; trade school education or 2+ years of related experience preferred (agriculture, construction, heavy truck, or diesel equipment). Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in diagnosing and repairing small engines, tractors, and agricultural equipment. Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems. Ability to read and interpret schematics, technical diagrams, and service manuals. Basic computer skills, including time tracking, digital work orders, and parts identification systems. Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality workmanship and safety standards. Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with team members and leadership. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment. Experience with welding and fabrication is a plus. Additional certifications (such as HVAC or CDL) are a plus but not required. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record and ability to operate company vehicles. Physical requirements Ability to lift and/or move up to 75 pounds regularly, with proper equipment as needed. Ability to stand, bend, reach, and work in a physically active environment for extended periods of time. Operate equipment and tools safely in a fast-paced shop environment.
