Job Overview Stronghold Contracting Group is actively seeking experienced Fiber Technicians to join our growing team. We are looking for skilled professionals who can independently perform high-quality fiber optic installations, terminations, testing, and troubleshooting across various project environments. As an Experienced Fiber Technician, you will play a critical role in delivering reliable fiber optic network infrastructure for our clients in the Southeast. This is a hands-on field position ideal for technicians who take pride in quality workmanship, safety, and efficiency. Duties Independently install, pull, route, and lash fiber optic cable in both underground conduit and aerial applications Perform professional fiber terminations (SC, LC, and other connectors) and fusion splicing Conduct insertion loss testing, OTDR testing, and fiber characterization Install innerduct, microduct, and conduit systems Read, interpret, and work from fiber network diagrams, blueprints, and as-built drawings Complete detailed daily documentation and accurate as-built records Troubleshoot fiber optic issues and support network activation Maintain and protect fiber optic cable and equipment to the highest industry standards Mentor and support junior technicians when needed Follow all safety protocols and company procedures on every job site Accurately clock in/out daily using QuickBooks Workforce Qualifications Required Minimum 2+ years of hands-on experience in fiber optic installation and maintenance Strong proficiency in fiber termination, splicing, and testing (OTDR, power meter, light source) Experience working with both underground and aerial fiber installations Valid driver's license with clean MVR Ability to pass pre-employment background check and drug screen Physical ability to perform demanding outdoor work in various weather and terrain conditions

Preferred:

OSHA 10-Hour Construction certification FOA (Fiber Optic Association) or equivalent fiber optic certification Prior experience in telecommunications, structured cabling, or utility construction Experience with fusion splicers and advanced fiber testing equipment Work Environment This is a field-based position that requires regular travel to project sites across the Southeast.

$22.00 - $30.00 per hour
