Entry level — we train you. We restore and resell vintage electronics — receivers, turntables, cassette decks, VCRs, reel-to-reel, and everything adjacent. Gear comes in dusty, untested, and sometimes broken. It goes out clean, working, and photographed. We're a small shop, so everyone here does a bit of everything. If you're the kind of person who gets a kick out of watching a decades-old amplifier power back to life, you're who we're looking for. We'd rather train someone who genuinely cares about this gear than hire someone who just needs a job. No experience required. We train you on everything — testing, diagnostics, soldering, restoration. What you can't be taught is caring about the work and showing up for it. What you'll actually be doing The work splits roughly three ways: Customer support (~15 hrs/week) Answering phone, email, and text. Helping walk-in customers. Looking up orders, answering questions about gear, and following up on issues after a sale. Testing and repair (~15 hrs/week) Testing incoming units to find out what works and what doesn't. Basic diagnostics. As you build skill, you'll move into real repair work — soldering, part replacement, and restoration. How fast that happens is up to you. Cleaning and prep (~10 hrs/week) Getting units to showroom condition. This is detail work — disassembly, cleaning, polishing, reassembly. Some of what comes in is genuinely dirty. The gear doesn't sell if this part isn't done right. Where this goes This is a trade, and you'll learn it here. You'll start on testing and prep, and as you show you can handle it, you'll move into real repair — diagnostics, soldering, part replacement, full restorations. Some of that gear is worth real money when it's done right, and knowing how to bring it back is a skill that stays with you whether or not you stay with us. How fast that happens depends on you, not on a calendar. Schedule and pay We're flexible on when you work. We're not flexible about showing up. We'll build the schedule around your life. In exchange, we need to know you're coming in — there are five of us, and there's no one else to cover a shift. Life happens and we get that. It's the unpredictable weeks that don't work here. On-site in Mesa, 85204 You tell us the schedule. Five 8-hour days, four 10-hour days, four days a week, a schedule that includes Saturdays — we'll build around what actually works for your life. Our default is Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and Saturdays run shorter, roughly 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM. 32-40 hours/week. Reliable transportation, or a backup plan when it fails Careful hands and patience with small parts Willingness to do the unglamorous work — cleaning, testing, packing — not just the interesting repairs Able to talk to customers professionally by phone, email, and in person Able to lift and move equipment regularly Comfortable working independently once you know the task Helpful, but not required Any hands-on repair experience — electronics, appliances, instruments, small engines, jewelry, watches Soldering, multimeter, or hand tool experience Familiarity with vintage stereo or A/V gear Retail, service counter, or customer support background Shopify or similar e-commerce experience If you already have real repair experience, say so and be specific about what you've worked on. Someone who can contribute on the bench right away is worth more to us than someone we train from zero — tell us what you'd need to make this work.
