This role is central to ensuring our devices meet strict performance and quality standards before release. The ideal candidate is comfortable working with complex test equipment, precision measurement tools, and detailed test protocols in a highly regulated environment. This is a hands-on technical role requiring strong documentation discipline, attention to detail, and the ability to troubleshoot and communicate issues clearly to engineering and quality teams. We work with highly specialized components and test methods, so technical acumen and precision are essential. Key Responsibilities Execute Design Verification Testing (DVT) protocols on prototype and production devices per approved test procedures and engineering specifications Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections on components, sub-assemblies, and finished devices using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and vision/microscope inspection systems, amongst other items Set up, calibrate, and operate complex test equipment, including tensile testers, pressure/burst test stations, custom fixtures, etc. Conduct functional and dimensional testing to verify conformance to drawings, specifications, and tolerances Accurately record and document test results, inspection data, and non-conformances in compliance with Good Documentation Practices (GDP) Complete and maintain Device History Records (DHR), test reports, and traceability documentation Identify, document, and escalate test failures, anomalies, and nonconforming product; support root cause investigation with engineering Support Material Review Board (MRB) activities and provide test data for disposition decisions Work directly with R D engineers during prototype builds and test cycles, providing hands-on feedback on device handling, fixture design, and test setup Support root cause analysis by sharing hands-on observations from testing and assembly (e.g., handling feel, material inconsistencies, failure patterns) that may not show up in test data alone Maintain calibration schedules, logs, and preventive maintenance for test and inspection equipment Follow all applicable quality system requirements (ISO 13485, FDA 21 CFR 820) and standard operating procedures Support validation activities (IQ/OQ/PQ) and assist engineering with new test method development as needed Maintain a clean, organized, and audit-ready test lab and work area Qualifications High school diploma required (Associate's degree in a technical field preferred) 1+ years of experience in a test, inspection, or quality role, preferably in medical device or another regulated manufacturing environment Hands-on experience with precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges, microscopes) Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and test protocols Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate documentation Comfortable working with small, precision components under a microscope or magnification Basic computer proficiency (Excel/Google Sheets, ERP or quality data systems) Strong written and verbal communication skills Preferred Experience Experience with
