Full Job Description Repair Technician Job Description:
The Repair Technician will be responsible for the facilitation and oversight of repair of Volt assets as well as facilitating efficient and timely repair of external client assets. This is a role with high internal and external visibility, responsible for communicating effectively and clearly with key internal teams in addition to external clients regarding status and timeline asset repair. Physical repair, thorough diagnostic capabilities, vendor relationship management, and upper level communication skills are several key touch points of the role. The Repair Technician will demonstrate organization in physical layout and digital storage, good verbal and written communication skills, the ability to make decisions based on limited information, and present evidence to upper management for vendor relationships. This is a fast paced position that requires the ability to produce results independently and within a team environment. This position may require some travel.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Manage multiple timelines in accordance with shifting priorities
  • Communicate with key internal and external partners to manage expectations, timelines, and find the most appropriate solutions for repairs against budget & time constraints
  • Document and implement procedure for the scale and scope of the department
  • Assist Sales Department with Quote and Order generation in support of External Client assets
  • Follow communication protocols for repair asset & department supplies
  • Coordinate with key Vendor partners for feedback and support of product viability as related to Volt interests
  • Follow safety protocols at all times
  • Keep your work area clean and organized at all times
  • Diagnose and repair Volt fixtures and equipment
  • Maintain repair logs in Volt prescribed Inventory Management software
  • Track repair time per fixture - accumulated time in Repair & metric tracking on highly repetitive tasks
  • Maintain and replenish Parts Inventory for Volt and client assets in accordance with Volt purchasing guidelines
  • Assist Fixture Department with diagnostics and software updates
  • Provide guidance and leadership to coworkers and support staff as needed
  • Foundational knowledge of common Entertainment industry digital control protocols(SACN, ARTNET, MA-NET)
  • Previous lighting console diagnostics and repair experience(MA preferred)
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted
  • Component level soldering skills
  • Other duties as assigned The Repair Technician reports directly to the Director of Operations.
Compensation Package:
  • $72,000/year salary/at will/paid bi-weekly
  • 40 hours paid time off.
  • 48 hours sick leave.†
  • Health, dental, and vision partially covered by employer.+
  • 401(k): You will be eligible to participate in Volt's 401(k) Safe Harbor plan and a company matching formula of 100% on the first 3% of compensation and 50% on the next 2% of compensation. You can enroll after completing one full year of service.^ January 1. Any remaining vacation hours will be rolled over to the new year.
  • Unused sick hours will go away at the end of year, with a new bank of 48 sick hours available
  • Available after 30 days of employment +60 day waiting period from start, then eligible at the beginning of the following month.
^Available upon the completion of 1 year of service.
Pay:
$71,000.00 - $72,000.00 per year
