This is primarily an in-house technical position focused on equipment assembly, testing, calibration, troubleshooting, quality control, and production support. The technician will work closely with our engineering, production, software, and service teams to ensure Scienscope equipment is properly built, tested, and prepared for customer delivery. The ideal candidate enjoys working with advanced equipment, solving technical problems, and learning new technologies. Experience with electro-mechanical systems, industrial automation, electronics, or X-ray equipment is highly desirable. Key ResponsibilitiesIn-House Technical Responsibilities Assemble, test, calibrate, and perform quality-control inspections on X-ray and automation equipment. Prepare completed machines for shipment to customers. Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, software, and hardware issues. Perform system testing and identify potential problems before equipment is shipped. Test hardware and software and provide detailed, constructive feedback to engineering and software teams. Assist with machine modifications, upgrades, repairs, and improvements. Provide technical support by phone and through remote-support tools such as TeamViewer. Diagnose equipment issues and determine appropriate corrective actions. Assist engineering and production with technical troubleshooting and problem resolution. Maintain accurate records of testing, repairs, calibration, and equipment issues. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Occasional Field Service Support Although this is primarily an in-house position , the technician may occasionally assist with: Equipment installation and commissioning at customer facilities. Customer training and technical support. Equipment repair, maintenance, testing, and calibration. Troubleshooting and diagnosing technical problems in the field. Preparing detailed service reports and maintaining service records. Qualifications & Requirements Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering Technology, or a related technical field preferred. Strong hands-on mechanical and electrical aptitude. Basic understanding of electrical schematics and wiring diagrams. Experience working with electro-mechanical equipment is a plus. Ability to use common hand tools and electrical/diagnostic equipment. Strong computer skills and ability to troubleshoot hardware and software issues. Experience with industrial automation, robotics, electronics, or manufacturing equipment is a plus. Knowledge or experience with X-ray technology is a plus. Knowledge of industrial production and quality standards, including ISO 9001, is a plus. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent attention to detail. Ability to learn new technologies quickly. Ability to work independently while also working effectively as part of a team. Strong communication and documentation skills. Ideal Candidate We are looking for a hands-on problem solver who is comfortable working directly with machinery and technology. The ideal candidate does not need to know everything on day one. We are willing to train the right person, but the candidate must be a fast learner, technically curious, dependable, and willing to take ownership of problems from diagnosis through resolution. Experience with industrial equipment, automation, electronics manufacturing, SMT equipment, robotics, motion control, or other complex machinery is highly desirable.
