Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Fiber Optic Installer to join our dynamic telecommunications team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, splicing, and maintaining fiber optic cables to ensure high-quality network connectivity. Your expertise will help deliver reliable internet, telecommunication, and data services to residential and commercial clients. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in the field, troubleshoot technical issues, and contribute to expanding cutting-edge communication infrastructure. Duties Install fiber optic cables in various environments, including underground, aerial, and building interiors, following safety protocols and industry standards. Perform fiber splicing with precision using specialized tools and techniques to ensure optimal signal transmission. Conduct network installation activities involving Ethernet, telephony systems, and low voltage wiring to support comprehensive communication solutions. Use hand tools such as cable cutters, strippers, and crimpers to prepare cables for splicing and connection. Test fiber optic links with equipment like ohmmeters and optical power meters to verify performance and troubleshoot issues. Connect and configure Cisco routers and other networking hardware to establish reliable network connections. Collaborate with team members on cable routing, mechanical installations, and system testing to deliver seamless service. Maintain detailed documentation of installation processes, test results, and service reports for quality assurance. Qualifications Proven experience in fiber splicing, network installation, or related field service roles within telecommunications or IT environments. Strong mechanical knowledge of cabling systems, connectors, and low voltage electrical components. Familiarity with Cisco routers, Ethernet wiring standards, telephony systems, and computer networking fundamentals. Ability to operate hand tools safely and efficiently during installation and maintenance tasks. Experience working with telecommunication infrastructure including cabling, conduit installation, and mechanical mounting. Knowledge of electrical safety practices along with the use of testing equipment such as ohmmeters and multimeters. Service technician experience preferred, demonstrating excellent problem-solving skills in the field. Ability to work outdoors or in confined spaces while adhering to safety guidelines. Pay:
$50.00 - $60.00 per hour
