Electronics Test Technician (Through-Hole Technology) Engineered Magnetics Inc Inglewood, CA Job Details Full-time $30 - $36 an hour 8 hours ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Paid time off Vision insurance 401(k) matching Life insurance Qualifications Schematics Electrical experience Attention to detail Engineering Technology Electrical troubleshooting Equipment testing Associate's degree Electrical soldering Electronic equipment testing Full Job Description About the Role We are looking for a detail-oriented Test Technician to join our team, focusing on the validation and troubleshooting of through-hole printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs). You will be responsible for ensuring that all boards and assemblies meet performance specifications and quality standards, specifically focusing on the mechanical and electrical integrity of through-hole solder joints. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record within Tier-1 defense prime contractors such as Lockheed Martin, bringing a disciplined "strategy-first" mindset and the ability to test and troubleshoot with rigorous technical requirements.
Key Responsibilities Functional Testing:
Execute performance and durability tests on through-hole electronic assemblies using standard test equipment such as oscilloscopes, digital multimeters (DMM), signal generators, and power supplies.
Troubleshooting & Rework:
Diagnose board-level failures to the component level. Perform high-quality hand soldering and desoldering for through-hole components to repair or rework modules.
Documentation:
Maintain meticulous records of test results, anomalies, and corrective actions taken.
Schematic Interpretation:
Read and interpret complex electrical schematics, assembly drawings, and technical work instructions to set up test equipment.
Quality & Safety:
Ensure compliance with IPC-A-610 and
J-STD-001
standards and maintain strict adherence to Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) and Foreign Object Damage (FOD) protocols.
Qualifications & Experience Experience:
4+ years of experience in electronics testing, specifically with through-hole (PTH) and surface mount (SMT) technology.
Technical Skills:
Expertise in manual soldering and desoldering techniques for through-hole components. Proficiency with diagnostic tools like spectrum analyzers and network analyzers .
Certification:
IPC-A-610 and/or
J-STD-001
certification is highly preferred.
Education:
Associate degree in Electronics Engineering Technology or a related field, or equivalent vocational training.
Clearance:
U.S. Citizenship required
Desired Attributes Manual Dexterity:
Strong hand-eye coordination for precision assembly and lead trimming.
Analytical Mindset:
Proven ability to perform root cause analysis on hardware failures.
Communication:
