DOE EMPLOYEE OWNER POSITION PURPOSE
The Commercial General Repair Technician I performs general maintenance and repair services for commercial properties and facility systems. This role is responsible for addressing routine maintenance requests, assisting with inspections, and supporting the overall upkeep and functionality of buildings and equipment. The ideal candidate is dependable, mechanically inclined, safety-focused, and eager to grow within the maintenance field.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform general maintenance and repair work on commercial buildings, equipment, and facility systems. Complete routine preventive maintenance tasks according to schedules and company procedures. Troubleshoot and repair basic electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and mechanical issues. Respond to work orders and service requests in a timely and professional manner. Inspect facilities and equipment to identify maintenance needs or safety concerns. Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in clean and safe operating conditions. Document completed work, materials used, and repair status accurately. Assist senior technicians with larger repairs, installations, and projects. Follow all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and operational procedures. Communicate effectively with supervisors, customers, vendors, and team members .
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum 1 year of experience in commercial maintenance, construction, or general repair preferred. Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems. Ability to use common maintenance tools and equipment safely. Strong attendance and reliability. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Valid driver's license preferred.
SPECIAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Must have and maintain a valid driver's license, vehicle insurance, and driving record in compliance with Company policy Must have reliable Transportation and tools
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and climb for extended periods of time Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds safely Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments under varying weather conditions Capable of using hand tools, power tools, and technical equipment safely and effectively Ability to climb ladders and work in elevated or confined spaces as needed Must be able to read labels, instructions, technical documents, and safety signage Must be able to respond quickly to operational or safety-related situations Ability to work overtime, weekends, or on-call shifts as business needs require
SCHEDULE
Monday-Friday from approx. 8:00am-4:30pm This position may require occasional long hours to meet business needs, including being available for emergency needs.
