Full Job Description Overview:
Pay information: $26.00•30.00 an hour
Shift:
4:00 PM•1:00 AM Our Maintenance Specialist IV are responsible for the repair and preventative maintenance of campus buildings and surrounding areas. Maintaining the campus with a high level of pride is integral to the success of our students who are looking to change their lives through technical training. The ideal candidate has proficiency in several of the repair and construction trades such as painting and dry wall repair, plumbing, electrical, welding and HVAC repair. Basic computer skills are needed and experience using forklifts and Scissor lifts are a plus. Candidates must be able to safely and efficiently work independently and have a team player approach.
Responsibilities:
Repair and maintain structure of establishment by performing moderately difficult work in a skilled trade, such as: construction, plumbing, electrical wiring, welding, HVAC, and other related maintenance activities, by determining best methodology and materials necessary to complete assignments. Ensure all equipment is functioning properly. Performs work and logs safety and preventative maintenance tasks according to schedule or checklist. Notify management concerning need for major repairs. Assist in training other maintenance personnel in areas of basic construction, plumbing, electrical, welding, and related maintenance skills Set up classrooms and auditoriums for campus functions. Adheres to standard safety practices including but not limited to wearing gloves, glasses, or other appropriate Personal Protective Equipment [PPE]. Other duties as assigned. Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
High School diploma or GED 3-5 years of experience in building maintenance Forklift certification required. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where deadlines are essential. Ability to provide flexible and adaptable work schedules. Ability to maintain professional image and work environment. Must possess good communication, planning, organization and judgement skills Intermediate to advance level construction, painting, plumbing, electrical and welding skills Must be able to safely and properly use hand tools. Experience with electrical test equipment and welding equipment is a plus.

Communicate, think, learn, and reason Use computers and computer systems (including hardware and software) to process transactions, store documents, enter data, or perform assigned tasks Safely ambulate and/or maneuver when on-site at Company locations Demonstrate and utilize active listening, inductive reasoning, information ordering and category flexibility Ability to use good judgment, problem-solving and decision-making skills Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information with discretion Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where deadlines are essential and multiple projects are worked simultaneously Ability to gain, understand and apply information and data as it relates essential functions of the position Ability to foster long-term relationships with stakeholders Frequently (up to 60% of workday) Work is performed indoors in a climate-controlled environment and outdoors in varying weather conditions. Works with and near chemicals in a controlled environment. Regular business hours with occasional overtime required.
