Job Description
Ratto Bros, Inc. is a 100-year-old family-owned farming operation selling vegetables and leafy greens to retailers and packers throughout the U.S. As a vertically integrated grower, packer, and shipper, we have full control over every aspect of our business that allows us to stay true to our ongoing commitment to provide the freshest, safest, and highest quality produce on the market. We are looking for a self-driven individual in our Ag maintenance shop. The Shop Mechanic will be responsible to repair, maintain, troubleshoot, fabricate, install and rebuild various agricultural equipment and company vehicles. The ideal candidate will have experience with various types of agricultural equipment such as overhaul trucks, buses, tractors, shredders, transplant equipment, implements and other heavy duty equipment. The majority of work will either be performed in a maintenance shop or in the middle of our ranches. A full job description will be available during the interview.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Correctly diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic or pneumatic problems and expedite its repair with minimal help Repair farm equipment disc, chisel, harrows and other farm implements Diagnose, adjust, and repair, all types of diesel engines. Carry out preventative maintenance on various ag equipment Set up equipment as required Proper documentation of work performed Performs basic electrical repairs Maintain shop equipment in good working order, grinders, drill press, welding machines and other shop related equipment Performs 90 day inspection Performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed Must work well under pressure, meeting multiple and sometimes conflicting deadlines Other duties as assignedQualifications:
1-5 years' experience with diesel equipment and/or agricultural equipment Proactive attitude and strong organizational skills Knowledge of shop equipment Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills Deadline and detail-oriented Class "C" driver's license Familiarity with John Deere equipment is preferred Bilingual in Spanish is preferred but not a requirement This position is a full time.
