What to Expect We're seeking a highly motivated Engineering Technician to help us push the boundaries of innovation in High Voltage Batteries. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for developing and testing the next generation of battery technology. To succeed in this role, you'll need to be extremely detail-oriented, hold yourself to the highest standards of quality, and be a team player who can collaborate with multiple engineering groups. What You'll Do
Design, assemble, and validate advanced battery prototypes supporting upcoming Tesla vehicle and energy programs
Develop, build, and execute comprehensive test setups to support product validation, performance benchmarking, and reliability testing
Collaborate cross-functionally with design, test, and manufacturing engineers to refine and improve current and future battery architectures
Operate and maintain complex production-representative equipment such as laser welders, dispensing gantries, and precision assembly tools
Calibrate, troubleshoot, and optimize state-of-the-art lab instruments to ensure test accuracy and repeatability
Document and report all build processes, test data, and inspection results with exceptional attention to detail and traceability
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized lab environment consistent with Tesla's world-class safety and quality standards
Travel domestically and internationally to support prototype builds and product launches at Tesla's global manufacturing sites What You'll Bring
Proven hands-on experience as an automotive, battery, or electronics engineering technician, or equivalent practical background
Proficient in standard electronics test equipment, including multimeters, HiPot testers, resistance meters, oscilloscopes, and AC/DC power supplies
Strong mechanical aptitude, with experience in precision assembly, fabrication, and use of hand and power tools
Solid grasp of electrical principles, physics, and engineering fundamentals related to high-voltage and electrochemical systems
Creative and analytical problem solver who can adapt quickly, learn continuously, and find innovative technical solutions
Self-directed and organized communicator with strong documentation habits and attention to procedural accuracy
Proficient in Microsoft Office tools and capable of safely lifting and handling up to 45 lbs.
Experience working safely with hazardous materials; formal safety training or certification is a plus
Degree desired, but not required, or equivalent experience
Machine shop and fabrication skills desired, but not required Compensation and Benefits

Expected Compensation
$28.80 - $56.40/hour + cash and stock awards + benefits Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
