Primary Responsibilities:
Key responsibilities and required knowledge for the Fiber Optic Assembly Service I role include: Requirements Fiber optic cabling, including installation, splicing, polishing, cleaving, connectorization, testing, and termination (fusion and mechanical) Electromechanical connectorization, assembly, and documentation Use of Corning, EXFO, and Fluke test equipment Installation and maintenance of Cat 6, coaxial, and fiber optic cabling Maintenance of fiber and copper systems Emergency restoration procedures for fiber and copper systems Inspection and quality verification services Troubleshooting of fiber and copper systems Fiber documentation, industry standards, and installation best practices
Qualifications:
Ability to assemble or install equipment and components requiring basic wiring, soldering, or connections; Perform routine tasks and tests, such as tensile or hardness testing, operate and adjust basic test equipment, and record test data Gather and maintain engineering records, perform calculations using established formulas, and plot data to create simple curves and graphs. To industry standards and installation techniques Minimum 2 years' experience
Physical Demands:
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds. Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time. Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically.
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS
Must currently hold a security clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for clearance at this location.
