This role serves as a critical link in our production lifecycle, collaborating with Controls Engineer and Software Engineers to install, test, and refine control panels for sophisticated food processing systems. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver who excels in a dynamic environment, balancing technical design tasks with hands-on implementation on the shop floor to ensure our equipment is optimized for global shipment. Essential Functions & Responsibilities Under the guidance of the Industrial Automation Technologist Lead, the successful candidate will:
System Diagnosis & Programming:
Perform issue diagnosis using ladder logic and develop ad-hoc PLC code changes using Rockwell RSLogix/Studio 5000.
Hardware Integration:
Install and maintain critical control components, including motor starters, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), relays, proximity sensors, encoders, and solenoids.
HMI/SCADA
Support:
Troubleshoot and maintain interface systems such as Ignition (Inductive Automation) and AB PanelView, providing diligent root cause analysis and incident documentation.
Technical Documentation:
Record and maintain "As Designed" and "As Built" configurations for all control systems and equipment.
Project Execution:
Collaborate with the Assembly team to ensure equipment meets all performance standards and timelines prior to shipment.
Network Maintenance:
Troubleshoot PLC components including CPU backplanes, I/O modules, and Ethernet communications.
Minimum Qualifications Experience:
1-3 years of experience in PLC programming and Allen Bradley (AB) LC-based controls (CompactLogix and ControlLogix preferred).
Technical Literacy:
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, control layouts, and Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
Technical Knowledge:
Familiarity with ladder logic, relay logic, and control components. Experience with Siemens or other non-AB systems is a plus.
Education/Communication:
Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to produce routine reports and interpret safety and maintenance manuals.
Travel:
Ability to travel up to 25% to support site installations or equipment commissioning.
