A Calibration Technician is responsible for the routine inspection, testing, maintenance and repair of instruments and manufacturing equipment. The purpose of the calibration technician role is to ensure the accuracy of the measurements taken using this equipment.
Mechanical Calibration Technician Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Mechanical Calibration Technician to support manufacturing operations and ensure the accuracy, reliability, and performance of precision mechanical test equipment and components. The ideal candidate will have a foundational understanding of mechanical metrology, hand tools, Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T), and engineering drawings/blueprints . This role is well suited for a technically capable professional who takes pride in precision workmanship, problem-solving, and maintaining high calibration and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform repair and calibration of torque measuring and indicating devices . Conduct precise mechanical measurements of plain and threaded pins and plug gauges . Perform mechanical measurements of precision milled and turned miniature and sub-miniature electronic components . Apply technical knowledge and hands-on skills to troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve mechanical calibration issues. Support technicians and New Product Introduction (NPI) engineers with technical guidance and measurement activities. Perform equipment adjustments, calibrations, and basic repairs. Identify technical issues and escalate complex repairs to experienced technicians when appropriate. Follow established calibration, measurement, quality, and safety procedures. Maintain high standards of workmanship, accuracy, and attention to detail. Communicate effectively with internal customers and team members. Document and communicate issues through appropriate verbal and written channels. Manage multiple assignments effectively while meeting established team and service objectives. Properly maintain and utilize tools, equipment, and other company resources, including adherence to connector-care and ESD requirements. Maintain professional relationships with a diverse range of colleagues and internal customers. Adhere to company policies, established processes, and the highest standards of business ethics.
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree, technical degree, trade-school education, or relevant vocational training preferred. 2+ years of related experience in mechanical calibration, repair, metrology, or mechanical test equipment. Basic understanding of mechanical metrology and precision measurement tools . Working knowledge of GD&T and the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings/blueprints. Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and hands-on technical competence. Strong proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office . Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently with a high level of responsibility and sound judgment. Ability to follow clearly defined objectives and established procedures, including assignments that may be repetitive. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical problems of limited scope and complexity.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) . Experience with Optical Surface Profilers . Experience using automated calibration software platforms . Specialized technical training, certifications, military technical experience, or equivalent hands-on training. Associate degree or relevant technical/trade-school background.

Work Environment:
This is a 100% onsite position in Santa Rosa, California, with a Monday-Friday schedule totaling 40 hours per week. The role involves hands-on work with precision mechanical measurement and calibration equipment and requires consistent adherence to quality, ESD, safety, and workmanship standards.
