Job Description

We're looking for a hands-on Fiber Drop Installation Technician to join our growing team! In this role, you'll install, route, and terminate fiber optic drop cables from existing network terminals to customer homes and businesses. You'll work in both aerial and underground environments—on telephone poles and in sidewalk utility boxes—helping deliver reliable, high-speed connectivity to our customers. If you enjoy working outdoors, take pride in quality workmanship, and like seeing the direct impact of your work, this could be a great fit. Candidates must be willing to work daily in the Susanville, Colfax and surrounding areas. What You'll Do Install fiber drops from network terminals to customer locations in both aerial and underground settings (including telephone poles and sidewalk utility boxes), following company standards and local requirements. Terminate fiber at network interface devices (NIDs), optical network terminals (ONTs), and approved interior locations. Test and verify signal levels using company-approved equipment to ensure top-quality service. Read and interpret construction prints, and basic network design documents to complete jobs accurately. Safely use ladders, bucket trucks, and hand and power tools. Document installations, test results, and job details using company mobile devices and systems. Provide professional, respectful customer interactions while on site. What We're Looking For Working knowledge of fiber drop installation and termination (aerial and underground). Strong mechanical aptitude and basic troubleshooting skills. Clear, professional communication skills. Ability to work independently or as part of a team and manage daily assignments effectively. Ability to pass a background check and clean motor vehicle driving record is required. Physical & Work Environment Comfortable climbing ladders and working at heights of up to 32 feet. Able to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions. Capable of lifting and carrying tools, equipment, and materials. Able to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the day. Starting hourly rate is dependent on prior experience.
