JOB SUMMARY
Robinson Helicopter Company is a leading manufacturer of civil rotorcraft with a 50-year history of providing affordable helicopters for a wide range of applications. Robinson is an engineering focused organization that provides challenging and exciting opportunities to contribute to the future of vertical flight. The Test and Instrumentation Technician is a member of the engineering team who works with flight test, stress, and design engineers and is responsible for setup, operation, and maintenance of engineering tests in support of the design, development, and validation of helicopter components, structures, and systems.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Work with engineering teams to install data acquisition systems that meet the needs of the project Configure and install instrumentation on test articles, system test stands, and flight test aircraft Collaborate with engineering to manufacture and set up test fixtures Operate complex test systems to conduct development and certification tests on structures and systems Maintain systems for storing and post-processing test data Work with data acquisition systems and control systems to support test data recording and postprocessing Utilize in-depth understanding of test equipment and methods to resolve issues and ensure timely completion of tests
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Hands on experience with data acquisition hardware and software in real world testing environments A solid knowledge of mechanical, electrical, manufacturing, structures, and systems concepts 2+ years of experience conducting tests and using test instrumentation Excellent technical record Hands-on experience building and maintaining mechanical and electrical systems Experience reading and understanding drawings, manuals, reports, schematics, and CAD models. Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills Must be a proven self-starter requiring minimal supervision, with strong problem-solving skills Team-oriented, possess a positive attitude, and works well with others Previous experience with aircraft development and certification testing Experience with NI CompactDAQ, CompactRIO, or DATAQ Instruments data acquisition systems Knowledge in production methods such as machining, welding, soldering, and harness fabrication A&P License Requirements 80609 Job and company information not to be copied, shared, scraped, or otherwise disseminated without explicit consent of JSfirm, LLC.
