Role:
As a CBRE Integrated Laboratory Solutions Metrology Apprentice, you will train alongside experienced calibration professionals to support the inspection, calibration, and verification of precision measurement and test equipment used in highly regulated laboratory environments. This role provides hands on exposure to electronic, mechanical, and dimensional measurement systems while developing foundational skills in metrology, documentation control, and quality compliance. The apprenticeship is part of CBRE's Critical and Technical Services function, supporting mission critical client laboratories.
What You'll Do:
Ensure prompt, flexible, customer-focused equipment support. Maintain compliance with statutory, regulatory, and engineering standards. Observe device calibration and return, document control, and verification. Work within the service logging process and asset database. Ensure supporting documentation is accurate. Review the performance of the scientific equipment and systems. Work with the team to suggest improvements. Support management by visiting onsite vendors alongside the client metrology team. Support data-related initiatives such as contract renewal, asset replacement, etc. Attend client meetings to review ongoing performance, areas for continual improvement. Follow a set procedure in the performance of repetitive tasks or job activities. Impact through methods, tasks, and duties which are clearly defined and followed with little to no discretion.
What You'll Need:
High School Diploma, GED, or currently enrolled in a 2 or 4-year college program or technical school. Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more. Ability to develop skills to perform basic activities in own job. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate. Familiarity with Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc. Organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset. Simple math skills. Ability to calculate simple figures such as percentages, discounts, and markups. The minimum salary for the Maintenance Tech Apprentice position is $41, 600 annually and the maximum salary for the Maintenance Tech Apprentice position is $52,000 annually. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience.
